Migraines run in my family, at least as far back as my great-grandmother. For three days since Saturday, I’ve had one that’s been kind of coming and going. It’s making it very difficult to think, and therefore, difficult to come up with a good blog post. So, I’m going to talk about headaches. I’m writing this on Monday, so I don’t know if I’ll still feel like this when this posts.
I can usually banish them with a dose of one Exedrin and one Aleve. I tried that Saturday. It got rid of it, and then it came back. So I took more meds. The catch? If you take too many Exedrins (the only thing that works), the caffeine creates rebound headaches, so it’s a never-ending cycle of pain, meds, pain, meds, pain. I try not to take too many meds for this reason.
Anyway, I took the meds on Saturday afternoon and they took a while, but eventually it went away. It came back a few hours later, but I was out of town for my book club, so I couldn’t take more meds right away. Often, if I don’t take the meds right away, they don’t work. Luckily, I didn’t drive. I was a good ninety minutes from home and driving was not advisable at that time.
I went to bed with pain that didn’t subside until I fell asleep.
It came back Sunday, though not as bad. Then I woke up in the middle of the night with an incredible amount of pain that was mostly gone in the morning. But it came back.
The pain itself isn’t so bad, but I’m nauseous and dizzy. So fun!
Anyway, that’s the main reason I’ve been MIA the past few days. Hopefully, I’ll feel better by the time this posts and get back on track.
