No, this is not a rant about sex or violence on TV or in movies.
I’d never be so obvious.
No. It’s not about that at all. It’s about Christmas claymation movies.
I looked forward to them as a child. My boyfriend and my best friend still love them beyond reason.
So when I was flipping channels the other night and Chris saw Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was on, I knew I was doomed for the evening.
What struck me most about the movie was how cranky and mean everyone was! I mean, Santa was just a crotchety old man criticizing and demeaning everyone around him. The reindeer, right down to Rudolph’s father and the adult reindeer coach guy, were nasty and judgmental. The boss of the elves was even mean. He was the kind of boss no one wants to work for. The kind who causes people to quit in a week or stay and get an ulcer.
Seriously, this movie was just full of nasty, mean, crotchety characters. And they were supposed to be working to make a merry Christmas for all the world’s boys and girls.
There’s something not quite right about that.
